This limited release pin depicts a pivotal moment in American history: Dr. Samuel Mudd setting John Wilkes Booth’s broken leg inside his home. The scene is historically based on events following the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln in April 1865, when Booth fled Washington, D.C., traveled through Maryland and Virginia, and (after falling from his horse) sought medical help from Dr. Mudd. The pin’s setting has been recreated as accurately as possible, from the layout of Dr. Mudd’s living room to the period appropriate couch.
