Pin Hive began as a dream fueled by a love for art, nature, and community.

Our founder, Sarena Harris, first fell in love with designing while living and working at Dry Tortugas National Park (DRTO). Surrounded by nature and history, she discovered her passion for art and a deep care for the environment. Life brought her to Orlando, Florida, where she faced challenges balancing art school, toxic jobs, and her mental health. In those difficult times, Sarena found unexpected joy in a simple hobby: Disney pin trading.

What began as a hobby quickly turned into a passion and then a calling. Sarena started hosting live shows and selling her excess pins online, eventually transforming her personal art portfolio site into what Pin Hive is today. At first, the site listed Disney pins from live shows, but her vision quickly grew beyond becoming an established reseller. She wanted to create meaningful, high quality pins that told stories and gave back to the planet.

The road wasn’t easy. Sarena’s first experience manufacturing her own pins was frustrating and disappointing: poor communication, low quality, and overcharging nearly made her give up on creating. But persistence and vision paid off. She eventually partnered with a factory that matched her values: transparent communication, high ethical and environmental standards, and exceptional craftsmanship. Together, they now produce Pin Hive’s exclusive line of eco conscious, long lasting collectibles.
